The Sauerman Farm.Today was a wonderful day! It started with a lovely and long over due visit with Ilse, Kobus and their family. They live on a beautiful little farm in the Assagay/Drummond area. We had a grand time reminiscing about school day memories and catching up on 22 years of time apart. Maddie and Caleb were fast friends and disappeared for most of our visit to play together.
Ilse and Kobus raise chickens for a local restaurant and had just picked up their latest batch of chicks. Caleb enjoyed showing them off to us and Maddie was quite hestitant at first to hold them. Then she got used to them and had a field day picking up different chicks...the only problem was that she dropped quite a few. Ilse assured us that the chicks were tough and could handle it, but I still held my breath everytime she got ready to release one.
I'm so happy to have connected with such a dear friend and can't wait for our next visit!
